JustUs,
I am in a serious emotional crisis. I'm not a suave type dude nor am I close to ever being a Mr. Cool or any of the other mocho type names for good looking men. But I've always been respectful and if a girl would just give me a chance, I know I can be a good man to her. I've known this girl for maybe a year and I asked her out within 3 weeks of meeting. She refused. 8 months later, we are very close friends and I'm still liking her. Over time my love for her has become very obvious to our friends, she always knew but others didn't. Now they constantly keep teasing us and it is becoming very uncomfortable for me.
I want to move on but I am having the hardest time. Seems like when I'm at my wits end and give up she then texts me and asks, "what's up? or how I'm doing?" I then end up feeling as though she must have some sort of feelings for me to have thought of me to send a text. Stupid huh? I know I shouldn't be spending so much time with her because it's causing me to keep falling more and more in love. I just cant stop myself from thinking about her and letting her go. How do I? I need to move on before she gets a boyfriend because when she does, if I still hold the same feelings for her, I will be so shattered!

Curtis,
I understand that you feel you're no Mr. Cool but there is obviously something she adores about you. Women are usually attracted to the strength and confidence of a man. God made men to be protectors and providers. He doesn't say you have to be cool to qualify to have a woman. Many women are not even attracted to the macho type. In your case though, you must be much more assertive. Let her know your concerns and your feelings. Either two things can happen, she accept it or reject it. I know you have expressed your interest in the past but this will be your last stand. This will let you and her know that life goes on instead of wondering what could have been. People are manipulative, if you let them, they will have there cake and eat it too. She likes you but maybe she don't see you as a possible mate. Go hard or stay home, make her give you a direct answer.
