Hello Justus,
I am so confused right now. I have been seeing this guy for the past 3 months. We talk all the time about everything; life, love, our personal situations, etc. Even though we're fairly new, we do use words of endearment when speaking. When introducing him I may say, "This is my friend, Jamie." but I've always meant it like a "boyfriend." I don't have any male "friends" except the guys I know by name and that's it. But they are not "friends," just guys I know (of). Well today on the phone, I overheard Jamie tell someone in the background, "...I'm on the phone with my "homegirl" JustUs I'm not only confused but I feel kind of hurt. Should I be? I thought we were much more than "homies." Is that the new slang for girlfriend? Or someone special? What do you think?

Hello Friend,
No, it's not the new slang word for "girlfriend". It's call setting up an excuse if something goes wrong. It's always best to define y'all status so nothing is left to the imagination. You will find out that this clarity method works in all aspects of life. People want to do right but we war against flesh and perception. But being honest and straightforward leaves little room for misunderstandings.

Hi Justus,
It's me again! ::)I did confront my "boy-friend" and asked what were his expectations of me and where did he see us heading? He said that the sky was the limit and by that he meant to the "Chapel." I told him that I was glad we felt the same way and told him about when I overheard him on the phone calling me his "homegirl." He claims he don't remember but said that I'm his girl. I don't know if he is still in the caution stage with me but since we have this understanding, I'm glad that it's understood and I'm not fooling myself. Please pray that we make it and be happy. Thanks Justus!
